Week 14th
I am already 14 weeks along! I am feeling pretty good, but my energy is not 100% to what I like! I will take it though, it is an amazing feeling to know that you are growing a baby inside of you! It is been an incredible week full of joy! Anna Borlik was born on September 18th! Congrats to Amy and Greg! I am excited to meet the new addition to the family! Another congrats to Al and Kim on the their 2nd addition, Camden James Smith on September 23rd! My next doctor appointment will be on Tuesday for another ultrasound and check up! On Friday I did have a little scare in a car accident. The baby and I are okay, but I was checked out at the hospital in Naperville to make sure the baby was okay! I was able to hear the baby's heartbeat(148 beats/minute)which was such a great feeling. I have been a little sore, but just a thanks to my parents and Mike!

Texas Tornado in Chicago!!
A family favorite came to town, The Texas Tornados! What a fun evening with the family! We started off in Greek town downtown at the Greek Isles Restaurant! It was Lynn, me, mom, dad, Uncle Johnny, Aunt Ellie, Uncle Willie, Aunt Maria, Matt, Uncle Berry, Luke, Johanne! We then went to the Old School of Music to see the Texas Tornadoes play!! It was a late show, but Ellie, Lynn, and I stayed dancing throughout the concert! We were able to meet some of the band as well which was nice! We have enjoyed many family parties to their music!

Labor Day Weekend!
I drove down to Sac City, Iowa for Labor Day weekend with the parents! We had a nice visit with my grandpa Williams and the family! I shared the news with the family, which was exciting to tell the cousins that there will be another cousin in the family! Looking forward to meet little Anna Borlik very soon, and our baby will be close in age with Anna, Grace, Colby, and Caleb! We had a nice interment ceremony in Sac City, Iowa for my Grandma Williams followed by church, and dinner at the final night at East End Restaurant!

11 week ultrasound!!
Well, I am getting over a very tired phase. It has been going on for the past 3 weeks where I wake up, and I am fighting the fatigue until the afternoon and give into a nap. Unfortunately, the daytime naps are not very refreshing, but otherwise I feel like I just over slept. I am grateful that is the only thing that I have felt that has given me a little discomfort! I have had some of my energy back since the end of August. I haven't been as active as I have in mid-August, but looking forward when that time comes. I don't want to push my body too hard, and I have enjoyed some of the downtime. I had my doctor visit August 31st, 2010. I had another ultrasound done.
This time was a surreal experience and I laughed as I first saw that little tiny peanut with a fluttering heart. The baby is still very tiny so my mom and I really couldn't see a whole lot but the form of the baby and how it was positioned in the uterus. When baby Fortuna moved around we could see the fluttering heartbeat, 160 beats per minute, and the head and brain and tiny bumps where arms and legs are forming. It was just so amazing, and I am just so happy! Mike and I are so blessed! I am grateful that the doctor sat down with me and was able to many of my questions! Its such a great reassurance that everything is going well when you hear it from the doctor!

Florida time!!
Mike had surprised me last minute, and was planning to take me to Florida for a few days to Clearwater before I start back up at school! We had a nice time, but truly a new experience I had down there with no sun! We took walks along the ocean with an umbrella, fished off the pier before the down pours, toured many of the museums that we haven't gone to before, went to the Clearwater aquarium and met celebrity dolphin, Winter that had an artificial fin they are making a movie out of(typical Hollywood), and of coarse enjoyed a lot of great food!

August 4th, 2010
I had written in my labtop before I made this blog, to document some of the things I did and felt until I actually made this blog for myself and to share with everyone! August 4th, 2010 I finished my final for Anatomy 2, and looking forward to the rest of the summer to spend some time with my family that is leaving for Germany at the end of the month. That day will truly be a sad day for the whole family, but an exciting experience that Joy, Rick and the boys will have.

My first ultrasound!! What a nerve racking experience! I am only about 7 weeks at this point, and I have never been to one before!! I was surprised how small the baby appears, and that it actually has to be labeled. I am so used to seeing other people's ultrasounds that are so life-like, but never realized that it doesn't look like a real baby until much later. Amazing experience to actually see that in only 7 weeks that I was about to see that "Baby Fortuna's heart" is beating at 132 beats per minute!
August 1st, 2010
I don't really have too many symptoms yet except breast soreness and fatigue, but I am still trying to push myself to do swallow cliff as 3-4 times a week with a heart rate monitor of coarse!! I haven't let myself become fully invested in this yet. I have seen so many friends struggle through pregnancies, lose babies, and miscarry that is hard for me to give my heart to this 100%, even though I just want to explode with joy deep down and have done so to my sibling and parents. I will get my first ultrasound tomorrow. Generally, I am just bursting with joy... and I want to tell the world about this new life forming inside me. But I am still trying to be cautious, as it is so early. Soon I hope to reveal this blog to everyone who is interested to follow along!!
